Dear Friends and Supporters of NLFO:
If you haven’t heard the news by now, the Supreme Court recently ruled to overturn the infamous 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion access across the United States. This ruling means that each individual state is able to decide how it will regulate abortion. Some states will choose to loosen all restrictions in the hopes of being an abortion hot spot – a step towards cultivating an abortion tourism industry. Other states will seek to fully remove all access to abortion and even put in place regulations to stop women in their state from accessing abortion pills through the mail. The spectrum of protections for the unborn will vastly differs simply by stepping a few feet from one state into another. We reside in a state where many do not believe in valuing human life and protecting the relationship each unborn child has with his or her mother. No matter the situation, state legislation and abortion bans are not going to solve the problems of a woman who is experiencing an unexpected pregnancy; they are going to make her desperate. When she is frantically searching for help, we are here for her. The best alternative to abortion is another person - someone to help her look beyond circumstances and share that abortion is not her only option. At this turning point in history, it’s not the beginning of anything new. New Life Family Outreach has been serving this community for 35 years and our mission going forward remains constant and unwavering. It is simply a crossroad – a point that causes pause and reflection before moving forward. The pregnancy help movement is under attack, but you won’t see it publicized in the mainstream media. Abortion advocates feel threatened and are choosing to react with threats of their own directed at the organizations that seek only to help women in desperation. The heart of our mission has always been about shining the light of truth into spiritually dark situations. It's no surprise that this new season brings out very dark responses as we champion the light of life. “So, what can I do?” People have been reaching out wondering how they can help. First, we want to thank you. We appreciate your life-affirming support and your desire to join us in this worthy cause. Second, you can pray. Now more than ever, we are asking for NLFO staff, volunteers, and clients to be lifted in your daily prayers. Pray for this community and our nation to be bent towards protecting unborn life and encouraging those considering abortion to pursue a positive alternative. Third, you can give. Our services and the increased security necessary to continue providing those services come at a cost, a cost we never pass on to our clients. I hope that you believe NLFO’s mission is a worthy investment. Giving a gift can be done simply and securely online at any time by clicking this link: https://www.newlifehighpoint.org/donate.html Finally, you can use your voice. Share the impact of this pivotal moment in our country’s history with those in your sphere of influence. Choose to reject passivity and engage in challenging conversations. It’s easy to be silent – especially when our silence is driven by fear. But now is the time to unite and create a life-affirming culture. You can partner with us in offering encouragement to women who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant as we seek to continue clearing the confusion with a message of hope. Sincerely, Deborah A. Rodenhizer Executive Director
