We are still on the front lines of the Abortion Issue in America..... On January 22, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation designating the third Sunday of January as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. New Life Family Outreach wants to help pastors, churches, and pro-life supporters in our state to use this day to bring awareness to the attacks that are daily waged against human life through the abortion industry. One of the best ways we can protect unborn lives is by bringing awareness to our congregations, friends, and family about the darkness of abortion and by partnering with us to help meet the emotional, material, and spiritual needs of vulnerable women in our community. Your partnership is vital! Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, we have seen a significant increase in the demand for abortion around the nation. We believe this is because of a general fear that there will be a national ban on abortion and the circulated lie that women’s healthcare will be subpar if the nation does not provide for abortions. Our secular world would have us believe that without easy access to abortions, women’s lives are at stake. However, they fail to account for the millions of little baby girls, and boys, whose health was not considered and lost their lives because of abortion practices. Our joint mission is not yet completed! Nationally, many states have passed pro-life legislation, but many others have codified the right to abortion in their state constitution. The abortion lobby is working hard, going from state to state using fear-mongering and misinformation tactics to sway, even evangelicals, to their side. We have seen these tactics in our state and they were successful. Recently we elected a Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General all of whom ran on the pro-choice stance and used these same fear-mongering and misinformation tactics during their campaign. Our current legislature has worked hard to pass pro-life legislation and increase restrictions - health requirements and check-ups- to receive abortions and abortion pills but this portion of the legislation is currently being held up in the state courts which makes it unenforceable. This is a vital step in decreasing the number of abortions we see in our state and ensuring the health of the women who desire these procedures and deadly medications. As is, our current state legislation allows for the termination of pregnancy up to 12 weeks gestation*. This gestation period accounts for over 90% of abortions* that occur in our state. With the abortion pill accounting for over 67% of those abortions.* This means North Carolina has become one of the top travel-to states to receive abortions, with over 15,000 women traveling to the state in 2023. Allowing North Carolina to have one of the highest abortion rates in the country at 14.4% per 100,000 women.* Join us in the fight!
Your pro-life vote, prayer and monetary support allows us to be open and available to women who are considering the abortion pill and other harmful interventions for their pregnancy. Sharing hope, truth and education while also referring to live-saving services, helps these women feel loved and supported. This counteracts the lies and fear they hear so often. Because of you, this past year we have offered 40 ultrasounds, provided over 40 free pregnancy tests, seen 5 salvations, welcomed 17 new babies, and had over 1,600 total appointments. Giving out thousands of diapers and wipes to those most in need. This year we plan to see more women than ever seeking our help, services and support. Please consider joining us in this vital life saving work!
